A Cold Day in Hell
A few nights ago, at a Post-Christmas party, I noticed a woman from across the patio, and marched up to her to compliment her on her shoes. Her shoes were HOT. Strappy stilettos that actually seemed wearable, as this fabulous woman was not teetering precariously four inches higher than normal above ground, but standing steadily upright. She graciously thanked me, and immediately followed up her gratitude with “You will never f#@king believe who they are”.
I blinked blankly at her a few times, half expecting her to either say she got them at Target for $10 or that they were $800 Manolos. After rattling off a few fails, she finally looked me dead in the eye and said the very last thing I expected to come out of her mouth.
“Jessica Simpson”
After I regained my composure, and the torrents of “NO EFFING WAY” stopped streaming from my mouth, we started in on a 20 minute conversation about this most unlikely win. I really wish I was making this up, because the very last thing I ever thought I’d be posting about on Haute Macabre would be Jessica Simpson, but here I am.
I am under the assumption that someone designs the line, and the name is just slapped on, but obnoxious pop stars seem to know their shoes, as of late.

I’ve been having this conflict for some time now. I find myself consistently drawn to them while shopping. I see that they’re JS and drop ‘em.

earlier this fall I was on a shoe rampage and noticed this as well. i also assumed the same thing of the name being slapped on.

Notice a few cute pair at zappos but I must draw the line somewhere and she is definitely not gonna find my closet! regardless of who is designing them – she still pockets the cash!

After seeing this post I broke down and ordered the Leena Bootie from zappos. I just got them this afternoon. They seem really comfy so far, and they are absolutely delicious looking. I love the spats look… even if JS does too… scary…
