Fingerless glove are everywhere on runways this season. A versatile accessory that can extend the wearablity of your summer clothes and accessorize nearly anything, they can also be a fashion trap. Ready to move beyond cutting off the ends of your old stripey socks, but don’t want to end up looking like Madonna in the 80′s or that guy that talks to himself over by the freeway? Here’s a couple of suggestions.

-Pair long, tight fingerless gloves with short sleeved dresses, or wear them under 3/4 sleeve jackets like these from Chanel (try adding a chunky bracelet over them for extra glam). I love Maison Martin Margiella’s leather version, at $199.00, but Sock Dreams has a nice cotton pair at a sensible $9.00.

-Try bulkier knit arm warmers over a fitted jacket. These are from Dior Homme, and Marc Jacobs’ Whitney arm warmers are fantastic, but a quick Etsy search will turn up dozens of knitters- try the Black and Charcoal Arm Warmers from KitMit!
