Coraline
As I’ve mentioned before, I adore Neil Gaiman. A few years back, I remember borrowing a copy of Coraline from a friend of mine, and as soon as I finished it, I called my friend and asked, “So when is the movie coming out?”. Thankfully, the wait is almost over. It has a scheduled release date of February 6, so in just a few weeks my wish will finally be granted. Directed by Henry Selick, of Nightmare Before Christmas fame, I am positive this is going to be every bit as awesome as I hope. Until then, I will continue to play on Coraline.com, and hope no one tries to sew black buttons on my eyes. Use the code OTHERWORLD to unlock the videos on the site.
The creators of Coraline sent out 50 handmade boxes, each with original items from the movie, to their favorite bloggers. Evil Buttons has all the updates on those and on the mysterious keys that were a part of an equally mysterious scavenger hunt. If all of that isn’t enough of a Gaiman fix for you (which, obviously, is an insatiable need), pick up a copy of his latest work, The Graveyard Book.

If you follow Neil on twitter, his veiled discontent with the Coraline marketing is hilarious.

Also, his road-trip to warmer climates with his surgery-convalescent dog is so sweet.

I have been driving my husband INSANE with my excited talk about Coraline. I cannot wait for that movie.

I have four of the Coraline keys myself. I’d have five if I were tall enough. I got that were two taped to the side of the hotel I was staying at in LA and two that were glued to the side of a convenience store in Emeryville near Pixar.
