Friedrich Gray

Australian label Friedrich Gray‘s Summer 2008 collection was nothing short of genius. It was high fashion that actually looked wearable, and not something to wow the runways and then wind up in some sort of “Never Will Someone Functionally Wear This Beautiful Piece of Couture” museum.
Sadly, the current collection, is not as awe inspiring. It definitely is everyday wear, and by that I mean that you could more likely than not piece the outfits together with items that you already own. Pictured below and to the side are examples from the early collection, which in my opinion, far surpasses the new.

I love this collection as well! I also wrote a post about it because of the absolute wearability and androgynous nature. I can imagine picking up these pieces off the floor after a night of, ya know, fun, and just throwing them on to go. He’s one to watch in the future.

That first outfit makes me weep, it’s so beautiful.

Also, the designer, Ben Pollitt – is very good looking.
Just saying.
But yes his clothes are stunning (I quite like the current collection, but I’m a pretty casual person) and I cry whenever I pick up one of his tanks and look at the $290 price tag.
