Better Late Than Never : The Visitors Must Be Amused

The AVA in New York City is at the tail end of an exhibit of costume and designer Christian Joy.
Sitting amid a sea of unwanted scraps and left-over material from past projects, Joy decided to dispose of the past 8 or 9 years of excess to concentrate on wildly diverse design concepts surrounding the female being.
Adding another component to this exhibition, the artist’s friends and family were invited to present her with a written description of a female being. She then designed costumes to represent each being, gave the costumes to her friends, and had them incorporate the costume into a photograph or creation of their own. The result of it all is found inThe Visitors Must Be Amused.
These the final days of the show, so you New Yorkers out there should take the trip over to the East Village (through the mountains of snow I heard you got this week). Sunday, March 8 will be its final day.
