The Lost Grind Opera

“Decadent, sensuous, and funny as hell…”

Located at the El Cid Theater in Los Angeles, The Lost Grind Opera is something I keep hearing about, and really have to go check out.  Described as a monthly theatrical showcase that “brings you the very best in dark cabaret” and “a unique blend of glamourous modern burlesque, original live music and deviantly hilarious vaudeville”, it sounds like pure magic.  They also encourage a fun dress code, suggesting Cirque, Edwardian, Steampunk, and 1920s – 1950s garb, I may finally have a place to wear the All Saints dress I’ve been saving for a special occasion.  Friday the 13th, you might be looking up this month way more than last.

Check out their Myspace page for more info and pictures.

Damnit.I live too far away. The other side of the world actually! There are similar sounding things popping up here in Aus though- especially in melbourne, so hope is not lost!

That sounds delightfully deviant. Shame I can’t go. :(

Holy crap, I’m flying here from Georgia into LA the day before, if my shoot on Friday finishes up on time, then I’m all over that!

The LG Opera was SPECTACULAR!!! A close friend of mine danced in it that evening and the clowns who hosted were hilarious.
