Fendi Goes Skeletor

Unveiled during Paris Fashion Week, Delfina Delettrez Fendi got all Skeletor with the accessories. The twenty-something year old designer is daughter of Silvia Venturini Fendi, and has definitely climbed up the design ladder since her first collection. Hopefully, her accessories and jewelry will continue to lean towards the macabre, and continue to get better.

This is the greatest fucking piece of jewellery I’ve ever seen in my life. I need to repost it in my blog, I hope that’s OK.

I like how it echoes where the actual bones in the hand would be. I recently made a few skeletal hands as part of a sculpting project. The proportions are very life like.

Reminds me of Beyone’s “Single Ladies” video.

Makes me want to see one made out of real bone. That may be legal but it would be interesting to see.

You could do it out of beef bones but you wouldn’t get the dimensionality it would be sort of flat, because the material only has solid bone to a certain depth. After that is the marrow matrix.
