Square Peg

Some people wait for the changing of the autumn leaves. I wait for the shoes to shift from sandals to boots. Thankfully, Autumn footwear hits the runways well before summer has even gotten off the ground here in San Francisco. The trend that’s starting to become obvious: square heels. Not the old boxy kind, but square heels just sexy as unwalkable as their stiletto counterparts. The ruby slipper above and the black boot below are from Ana Locking, who should really consider adding an underscore into the name of her website. The gray booties are from Nina Hjorth, and remind me of an abstracted version of Chanel’s 90mm heels.

These are all pretty stunning, but I’m not sure wha tI think about the square heel. It seems to fit the first pair, but seems slightly out of place on the second pair, and simply rediculous on the third.

Anal ocking makes some seriously ass-kicking boots.
Now if she could only include her boots and shoes on the site I would be happier. Then it would be at least worth the explanation I’ll surely have to come up with for IT and HR.

…I think I would risk walking in shoes like that…

I’m still seeing it everywhere.
