He Had A Piercing Stare

This is another one of those trends I feel like an old fogey for not getting right behind: the glasses peircing. Which is funny, because I see nothing odd about a bridge piercing. It’s just when you bump up the nerd factor on it that it seems questionable to me:

I think it’s because the idea that a piercing, which is largely supposed to be about personal decoration, that has a practical use just seems wrong. At least that’s my feeling about it.

Awesome. You’ll have to spend five minutes taking off your glasses with a tiny screwdriver before you can make out. Or go to bed.

I have nothing against bridge piercings, but this creeps me out a little o_0

As a follow eleglass wearer, I can only ask what happens when you get your glasses snagged on something? Does your nose go flying off? If so, will you drowned in the shower?

I approve of the concept, but pratically I’m not sure it’s so smart. If you find yourself in a very crowded place wher there is lots of jostling a person with glasses would get thier glasses knocked off. In this case what woudl happen. Would they get ripped from your nose if it was a hard enough knock? Also, you an’t just take your glasses off and fall into bed. You have to unscrew the lenses, keep track of the screws, and then fall in to bed. In the morning when you are rushing out of the house you have to take the time to make those tiny screws work and put the lenses back on – instead of just putting your glasses on, running a brush through your hair and running out the door. I like the concept, but they seem like they would be way more hassle than they are worth, and potentially quite dangerous.

Oh man, these have been floating around the internet forever! I’ve been trying to make a pair of my own since I first saw them.
They don’t even weigh the piercing down, all the weight is distributed through the nose pads, the bridge piercing itself is just a balance point.

I just got shivers up my spine. Looks very interesting, but they idea scares me.. I’d probably forget I had it pierced and take them off fast when I’m done reading or something.. haha…

that would suck if those glasses got ripped off somehow. lol

I like them! I would definitely go for some round wire framed sunglasses in this fashion.

Wow that’s so weird!! Weird. But cool.
I guess if you already had a bridge piercing it wouldn’t be a bad idea…but do people who need glasses get bridge piercings eh??
Anyways – I am still tossing up the idea of getting some dermal anchors on the back of my neck. Too painful??

How do the glasses attach to the piercing? Are they screwed on? You wouldn’t want to be taking the glass on and off regularly!!
Very cool idea though!

I think this is an awesome idea — combining the bridge piercing with eyeglasses — but the piercing without the glasses attached has to look better, so that when you choose not to wear glasses, you can just be wearing a bridge piercing rather than some weird hardware that looks like it’s just missing your glasses.

If the glasses were attached to the piercing using magnets instead of screws, there wouldn’t be as much of a practicality problem…
