Good Hijab!
Now that men in Iran (and all over Facebook) have taken to dressing in Hijab in support of jailed student activist Majid Tavakoli, perhaps we should all take up the trend. Here’s proof it wouldn’t have to be dull…

The photos are really beautiful. I love how the clothes are presented.

anyone know the model. kinda looks like isabeli, but not sure.
i love this editorial of course, im a sucker for this kind of thing. it’s interesting how people can have such a reaction when things are presented in a certain context, yet designers, esp. rick owens, and the all the other ones like him, do this look all day every day.

Definitely right about Rick Owens. I have an online habit of dissin’ without backing the opinion up. Nude woman holding expensive purse, wearing a hijab just seems ideologically contradictory/offensive on several levels.

this is not that revolutionary. Aside from that, Muslim women are very fashionable. They should find real hijab wearers and photograph them. Most people would be surprised.
If this is a political statement, I can’t see how effective it would be. I’m in NYC and this would not even turn heads.
