The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus
Terry Gilliam’s latest movie brings back the Gilliam that we know and love (even though we all forgave him for The Brothers Grimm). I saw this last week, and it was everything you want from one of his movies and more.
Aside from the clever work-around Gilliam came up with to substitute Heath Ledger’s character after his unfortunate and unexpected death, it’s impossible to resist anything that has Tom Waits playing the Devil.

Ahh, I want to see it so bad! I’m sure there’s a theatre playing it in Austin, I’m just SO broke right now.

I’m not sure that it has started its wide release yet! It opened in NY & LA around Christmas, and is due to have a nationwide theatrical release sometime in January.

Yes, this film was out at the beginning of Autumn for the UK at least. I saw the last screening in London’s Leicster Square on my birthday in a posh cinema with big comfy seats! It is beautiful and visually stunning whilst some suprising acting talents.
Plus, Tom Waits is God. I mean.. the Devil. I mean……. AWESOME!
And Lily Cole makes my knees weak. Hrrrhrhrhrhrhrhrrr….

But I enjoyed The Brothers Grimm!
I totally fell in love with The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. I saw it last month at a little, local cinema. Didn’t get a very wide release here (Melbourne, Australia). What gives?!
