The Legend of Leigh Bowery
The Legend of Leigh Bowery is a documentary of the life of the fashion designer, performance artist, and probable drag queen- alien hybrid whose outrageous fashions inspired the likes of Boy George and Alexander McQueen and continue to influence everyone from Gareth Pugh to Beth Ditto. Remarkably unknown in many circles in spite of his continuing influence on fashion from fetish to runway, Bowery died in 1994 after turning the London club scene on it’s ear and keeping it there for a decade.
