Coffin Couches are made from recycled caskets collected from southern California funeral homes, a new way of thinking “green”. Each casket has been previously occupied, but not buried, and is embossed with biohazard signs on the legs. A bit of a step up the Gawth ladder than the black couch you got at Ikea, eh?

I was first shown this lamp by artist Mark Beam back in 2007. Retailing directly through the designer for $1500, I’ve been telling myself to start saving my pennies ever since. At one point I saw it also available in all-natural bleach-bone white, but currently, I can only find the gold.
