Tony Cohen Fall / Winter 2010 at NYFW

Although there isn’t anything specifically “edgy” or dramatic about the collection, I’m actually quite impressed with it.  Overall, it has a feeling of femininity, without it being overwrought with pastels, flowers, or any of the stereotypical “girly” symbolism that is usually affixed to anything femme.  What strikes me the most about this line is how completely wearable it appears, without any lack of elegance.

Rad Hourani Fall / Winter 2010 at NYFW

I love it, but I feel like I’ve seen it already.  Yes, I’ll take every high collared, sharply cut fold and flap I can get my hands on, but is it all starting to look alike?  I can appreciate his obvious and specific influences, the stark silhouettes, and the pure androgyny of the collections, but again – are we all just subscribing to a new uniform?
