Louise Black on Project Runway!

Nixon Suicide in Loiuse Black skeleton X-ray corset

You guys are rocking the reader tips lately- thanks to Hilary Linder for the heads up on this bit of news!

As you can tell from the picture, I’ve been a Louise Black fan for a while.┬á We’ve covered her Etsy shop a couple of times, focusing on both her corsets and her other work, and she always comes up as an HM reader favorite when we ask you guys about your top Etsy picks. So, I am really happy to announce that all of her creative energy and hard work seem to paying off: Louise has been selected for Season 6 of that guiltiest of pleasures, Project Runway. Here is Louise’s audition tape:

Holy crap- I finally have someone to like on that show, instead of just hating everyone. Congratulations to Louise from the staff at Haute Macabre- we’ll be pulling for you!

  1. I am so happy for her. Hopefully she can handle the drama, because that show is definitely not about talent once you get in. It is more about how outragous and rude you can be. Plus, how quickly you can throw something together last minute. I will be watching as long as she is on čÖé

  2. I was so excited to hear she was going to be on the show because usually everyone on there is so annoying. I hope they show her more, I barely saw her on the last episode, I started watching it half-way through and was about to get pissed cause I thought they did not pick her for the show afterall, then I saw her dress on the runway and was all excited for her like I knew her or something. She’s so talented, I cant see wait to see what she does next.

  3. Heeh, I’ve been waiting for the premiere for everrrr it seems. :3 We may not have saw much of her this week, but Louise’s designs have so much more substance than any of those other people, I have a feeling we’ll be seeing more of her each week.

  4. I finally got around to watching Thursday’s episode and was disappointed they didn’t show her very much this week, but it was really great to see her dress walk down the runway at the end. After drooling over her corsets for so long it’s almost like seeing a friend on there and I’m rooting very hard for her success.

If you do not have cable and want to watch the episode (legally) Lifetime is posting the full episodes for free online the Saturday after they originally air. I’ve also heard something about live streaming but don’t know the details.

  5. I thought some of her pieces looked really familiar…

I think she will do really well on the show, and I loved her dress for the first challenge. I was sort of surprised that it didn’t get chosen because it was so well made. I hope that in later episodes she becomes a more apparent player because it seems that she wasn’t very prominent (also might be because she doesn’t talk smack about people like all the really popular people do… nor did she have a nervous breakdown)

I wish her the best of luck
