The Lady is a Vamp | Haute Macabre

The Lady is a Vamp

To be perfectly honest, I have no idea who Lady Gaga is.  I see her all over the internet in horrifying outfits, so all that I can assume is that she is an incredibly confused socialite that has a thing for looking like she just stepped off set of Fraggle Rock.  These are the first images of her I’ve come across that are, well, superb.  My only guess is that she found herself a new stylist, and that person deserves a raise.  We need more B-horror inspired editorial shoots in our lives, don’t you think?

  1. I add myself to the ranks who adore Lady Gaga. She’s a completely self-styled creation and she knows exactly what she’s doing when she makes herself appear to be vapid. It’s all part of the act.

While I know that all celebrities have stylists and trainers, I watched an interview with her from a little while ago in which she talked about her love of B horror films and monster movies, so I have to think that she should be given some credit for the awesomeness of these shots.

  2. Lady Gaga writes her own music, and has written songs for Britney Spears amongst other starlets – that’s how she got her start in the music industry.

I love how, while making pop music for a mainstream audience, she continuously shocks the industry and the public with outrageous, weird and wonderful outfits. Its about time pop musicians started taking more risks stylistically, like many did in the 80s.

Love this spread, thanks for sharing.

  3. I saw these a few weeks back and was blown away, I think we should be praising the stylist for these awesome photos,he is also one of my favorites.

I never got into Lady Gaga, she enrages me as well and the interviews I have read still do not give cause for me to think any different. I guess it’s a step above the rest that she writes her own music but it sounds like everything else I hear on pop radio.

  4. She’s a pop star, as others have said. I can’t stand her- something about her just makes me lose my temper! Word on the street is she’s a hermaphrodite. Won’t make her any more interesting, but you can’t deny these are great shots.

  5. I wonder if she’ll be dating Marilyn Manson any time soon… this could possibly just be a Fall/ Autumn shoot. She does look wonderful but her music is horrible. (In a bad way.)

  6. Does anyone know where I can get those panties in the third picture down?

She looks phenomenal in these pictures. Every single one is pure aesthetic gold.

  7. Lady Gaga is the pop start du jour. She’s been in the biz for a awhile as a songwriter for others, and I’m fairly certain that she writes most of her own.

I think Nicola Formicetti is her current stylist (a great choice, he’s one of my favorites).

  8. I love Lady Gaga. She styles herself, and aims to provoke you, while knowingly invoking all the famous people and styles that have come before her.

She’s a pop star who writes all her own music, and writes for many others too. She’s completely genuine. Something you don’t get often these days.

These pics are amazing. Have you read the article that went with it? If anyone’s interested in knowing about her it’s an interesting read.

  9. I saw her on a chat show recently and talk about car crash TV, she came across as totally brain-dead, or maybe she just didn’t understand British humour or basic manners… still she looks good in these shots and there has to be a first time for everything….I still think you’d get better conversation from the skeleton though

  10. Oh man, I second what the previous people have said. I’ve loved her from day one, and even when she wears something that seemingly would fail, i am soooo glad at least one celebrity is being creative. How can one really do something different unless they take risks? i heart her, even in all her fraggle, mirror encrusted glory! I just hope she keeps doing what she does.

  11. She’s a pop star 🙂 (I have no idea if she writes her own music or not)

Like it or loathe it, at least she has a strong sense of how she wants to look – makes her more interesting than most of the cookie cutter celebrities out there.

Although there was no way that Kermit stole was going to look good on ANYONE.

She looks rather brilliant in these photos.
