Earlier this afternoon, Kat Von D released swatches of TWENTY FIVE new Everlasting Liquid Lipstick shades launching in 2017. The KVD Beauty and her personal profiles have been showing tiny sneak peeks for months, and we cannot wait to get our hands on every single last shade.
As always, Kat has named her pigments for her own personal muses, a personal touch that I’ve always admired about her brand. It’s refreshing to see that she is 100% hands on with seemingly every stage, from product development, package design, to launch, which I feel like is a rarity for most successful major lines. She pours her passion into every release, as we’ve witnessed from Kat Von D Beauty transitioning from not only being 100% cruelty free to 100% Vegan, so that no animal is ever harmed in any phase of production. I have been especially influenced by this cosmetics brand: in 2015, I first tried Kat Von D Beauty after discovering that MAC Cosmetics had began to test on animals. My first purchase was an Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in the shade “Lolita”, and it instantly became an all-time favorite. Shortly thereafter, I made the commitment to myself to exclusively use cruelty free cosmetics and household products. Earlier this year, in 2016, I transitioned to a vegan diet, and after the better part of a year, I’ve never felt better, emotionally or physically. I am in no way preaching to anyone or saying that my choices should your choices, or that my ethics should be adopted by you, but I cannot imagine turning back. For me personally, it has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and I am extremely grateful to be able to continue to support Kat Von D Beauty in all of their vegan and cruelty free endeavors!
The releases will be staggered out through the next few months, starting in January. At first glance, I can say that I cannot wait to wear Nocturna, Plath, and Crucifix nonstop, but honestly, I’m over the moon about the entire collection. 2017 is already looking like it’s going to be a banner year!
