Rubies have associations with both Mars Ares and Venus Aphrodite. I keep pieces on both altars in my home: Venus for passion and intimacy, Mars for black magic protection. I do not recommend carrying pieces consecrated or dedicated to Ares on your person (leave it on your altar or ritual space).
