GROUNDING // PATIENCE // TRANSFORMATION

Once living, ancient beings, Petrified Wood is formed by trees now made eternal. They are a representation of a slow transformation: when buried in wet sediment or volcanic ash, the organic material of the wood does not decay, but is preserved and slowly replaced by minerals, eventually transformed to immortal stone. 

Petrified Wood is grounding and stabilizing - the tranquility of the forest, crystalized. Typically, the fossilized wood is crystalized to quartz, which amplifies the stillness of the tree it was born from. It gets its reddish-brown hues from iron deposits, adding its protection and its fortitude. 

As an impulsive air sign that jumps first and learns to fly later, I don’t understand slow and steady, but want to. I watch the earth signs in my life map out and execute long term plans, methodically, carefully, and always successfully.

I am approaching Petrified Wood as a teacher on the subject of steady progress, transformation & patience, opposed to rushing in & expecting instant results. Change & progress can be slow, but is always happening.
